Blog Dare:63

Today's Prompt:   What if you didn't have to worry about...?

What if I didn't have to worry about ... how my kids will turn out? Isn't every parent's worst fear, that their kids won't turn out "perfect?" I have wondered, if they will be great in school? Teenagers, we can be proud of, verse the boys that every father fears their daughter brings home? Will they be college bound, and excel at finding a career path? Will they find happiness in life? Will they be bullied? Will they struggle? Will they always be healthy? Will they know laughter and joy?

I will mark raising the boys to be fine young men, if they are truly happy. Whatever it is that they choose to take part in; be it art, sports, music, scouting, clubs, theater, debate, or any other interest...I just want them to be passionate about the subject or activity. If they become leaders, role models, and find a good solid group of friends; then they will hold their own. I hope that they know they can and will find success in anything they do, as long as they give one hundred and ten percent. Mike and I will cheer for, support, and guide them to be the best they can be. I want them to know that they can come to us, and we will always listen! I'm praying that whatever they face, they will know they will never be alone in their journey! If they turn out better than Mike and I did...that's a pretty good sign, right? Am I the only mom who wonders about these kinds of things?

    No, you aren't the only one! I am actually relieved to hear someone else decided to post about their motherhood panicing and worries for the Blog Dare prompt today. I just added my link to the group and decided to see if anyone else chose "this" topic. My post (http://mamanyc.net/2012/03/blog-dare-2012-what-if-worry-about-motherhood-mother-worry/) could have likely rambled on for many more paragraphs. I couldn't find the right words or type fast enough to get the words out. We panic and worry all too much about these kids. I guess it's our punishment for the worries we put our parents and elders through as children? I hope not... or else I am in for a rude awakening when my son hits the teen years!!!

    Don't worry, BE Happy! {Yeah, right....}

  2. I agree. I just want them to be happy on their path, whatever that may be and never feel alone,but free enough to make good choices.
