Today's Prompt: My secret shopping behavior...
Yikes! Do I even have a secret shopping behavior? I guess I never really gave this question much thought until now. I know I make shopping lists, and plan out holiday shopping weeks in advance with an excel sheet, and when it comes to crafting I always have a wish list in my purse.
I don't know if it is a much of a secret, but it is meticulous, and borderline OCD. I guess my list making is helpful to me, but it might not work for everyone. I know that my mother finds humor in that I make out our Christmas lists, prior to Halloween, but I have done it this way for years. The key is to keep a running list, that I just add ideas to, when ever I see something or the boys make a comment while we are out and something catches their eye.
I find that if I don't take a list to the grocery store, I have a tendency to buy stuff I do not need. It is much easier to stick to the list, than question in the middle of the isle, whether or not I need worcestershire sauce or teriyaki sauce. With two boys clamoring on and on about how they need the latest box of cereal with the tiny toy car inside, I think it is easier to say that it isn't on the list! Sorry, boys, this Momma is sticking to the list and other random purchases do not work with my budget. The boys already think I am uncool, and strange to carry a list that is the final word, when it comes to their requests for random items.

Do you make lists and stick to them, when it comes to shopping? Do you find them helpful or a hindrance?
