Today's Prompt: What my Mommy swimsuit looks like...compared to my younger years swimsuit.
I can not say that I have ever really enjoyed running around in a bikini. I remember the one and only bikini that I have ever worn in the last 20 years, it was blue and white with a hibiscus flower pattern. I disliked wearing it, and it made me very uncomfortable as a teen and young person. Little did I know that I should have gotten used to the idea, as I actually could have pulled the look off at the time. I have worn a one piece or tankini style swim suit for years. I will never wear one of those suits with the "ruffle," at the bottom of the swimsuit, but I always wear a sarong or some kind of wrap.
My Mommy swimsuit is one that can withstand the numerous water games that the boys come up with, must withstand a clingy wet monkey, and stay up when a little boy jumps off the side of the pool into my arms. Last summer's suit was a halter style tankini, with a skirt style two piece. I have yet to try it on this season, but a new suit might be in order. Crossing my fingers, as shopping for a new swimsuit ranks right up there with buying a new pair of jeans. Takes me forever to find a suit that I like, and the thought of trying on a swimsuit, grosses me out. So, swimsuit shopping is not something I enjoy.
What kind of swimsuit do you wear? How do you define a "Mommy Swimsuit?" Does motherhood mean you have to be covered head to toe?
