Farmer's Market and Helmets

We headed out early to enjoy the crisp Fall weather (who am I kidding we froze) and enjoyed our local farmers market. We were on the hunt for pumpkins, gourds, and indian corn. We hit the jack pot, and scored each item on our list, made some great bargains, and supported local farmers! The boys had never seen green or white pumpkins and spent a long time debating on if they wanted classic orange pumpkins or go with the wild colors! I love sorting through gourds to find the odd and unique shapes and sizes.

We also attended the Health Fair, and took part in the bike rodeo and helmet fittings. (I learned so much about helmets.) Did you know that you should get rid of a helmet, if your child has a big crash or fall? The helmet walls can weaken after a strong impact crash and may no longer protect your child 100% as when it was purchased.

Mikey and Ryan wore their helmets most of the day! When they weren't wearing them with knee and elbow pads; they were pretending they were hard hats on a construction site. Ryan kept knocking on his helmet saying, "Knock, knock can you hear me?" (He then would laugh at himself.)

How did you spend your Saturday? Did you do anything to enjoy the crisp Fall weather?

  1. I guess that makes sense about the helmets because it's true for car seats also. I LOVE the crisp Fall weather too!
