A First Look at the Festival of Trees

Guess where I am heading today?

The Festival of Trees is a holiday themed family event that benefits the Kennedy Krieger Institute every year. The focal point of the event is the display and sale of more than 600 spectacular holiday trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses created by local designers, artists, florists, individuals, schools, and community groups. Additional attractions include live holiday entertainment, seasonal merchants and a model train display. One of the event’s most popular areas is Santa Land, an indoor carnival-style experience for children featuring crafts, games, Santa visits, and pony, carousel, and train rides.

I am so excited to be going to the Cow Palace, at the Maryland State Fair Grounds, to see how 600+ trees are decorated by amazing women and men who volunteer their time, skills, and supplies to create stunning decorated trees, wreaths, and gingerbread houses. Stay tuned for the details, and my preview post on behalf of Macaroni Kid North West Baltimore!
