Have you heard of the 25 Books of Christmas? My friend Leanne, introduced this idea to me and we have been doing this for the last three years! The idea is simple, collect all of the Christmas or winter books, that you have and then wrap them up to open one each night, prior to bed time. I wanted to review the titles that we have in our collection, as we head into our fourth year of doing this fun family tradition! I wanted to see if we had any duplicates or books that were not suited for my kids ages, as a few were baby books when I bought them. I will head back to our local Goodwill, and replace four of our books, as my boys have out grown the titles. I love that I can find great holiday books at our local book swaps, book sales, or local thrift stores often for less than a dollar. Does your little one stay in bed once you put him or her in bed? Does your child wake up in the middle of the night? As I am typing this, my youngest son is sleeping next to me on the couch. Ryan has already been placed in bed 4 times, and is restless. (I will put him back in bed for the 5 time this evening, once I am finished writing.) Ryan had colic, and never developed a solid sleep pattern as an infant. When he finally grew out of the colic stage, we rejoiced and relished in the beauty of sound sleep. That lasted all of about a month, as he then was teething or just wasn't sleeping solid through the night. He is now 3 and will, turn 4 in March, and yet there are nights he still wakes up and comes to my bedside. I do not talk to him, but simply pick him up and place him back in bed. He normally is asleep, before his head ever hits the pillow. There are nights where he gets up 3 or 4 times, and this Momma is tired! He isn't trying to play, isn't ill, or isn't asking...

This Week's Prompts: List 8 things you're looking forward to OR list 8 things you're dreading about sending the kids back to school. You might be tired of hearing it, but I am sending my son to Kindergarten. Here is my list of 8 things I am looking forward to as his very excited Momma!  I look forward to Mikey, using the name Mike. He told us at registration to fill out all of his paperwork with "Mike," not Mikey, Michael, or Jr., but just Mike. A strong name and one that he will use the rest of his life.
