{Review} The LEGO® Batman Movie

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of the ensemble – LEGO® Batman – stars in his own big screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from the Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, , try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.

Will Arnett reprises his starring from role from the “LEGO® Movie,” as the voice of LEGO®  Batman, aka Bruce Wayne. Zach Galifianakis (“Muppets Most Wanted,” the “Hangover” films) stars as the Joker; Michael Cera (TV’s “Arrested Development”) as the orphan Dick Grayson; Rosario Dawson (TV’s Daredevil) as Barbara Gordon, and Ralph Fiennes (the “Harry Potter” films) as Alfred.
We have been waiting for the day we could go see  “The LEGO® Batman Movie!” Both of our boys are huge fans, and could hard contain their excitement.
This family film has something for everyone! The kids loved every second of The LEGO® Batman movie. My husband and chuckled at the humor and 80's pop culture!
The kids wanted to stay through the credits, and laughed throughout the film! Batman was in great form, and shared his amazing fleet of gadgets and vehicles. Guess who couldn't wait to get home and start building?

Go see this film! Opens today, February 10, 2017!

{Movie Review} Moana

Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one knows why.  From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of AuliÊ»i Cravalho) meets the mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity.

“Moana” is now playing in theaters everywhere!

Ocean Point Vacation - West Palm Beach Florida 2016

We had the joy of taking our first family trip to Florida! The boys had not seen the ocean for many years! I was absolutely amazed at the sheer wonder of the looks of joy on their faces, when they finally put their toes in the water!

We took a short drive to Fort Laudredale, and the boys stood like this for a really long time. Our youngest son, could not get over how blue the water was. We took a walk down the beach and watched the ships in the water, we even saw a pirate ship on our journey!
Our resort, had numerous amenities for families. The kids loved playing mini golf, giant chess, and swimming in the saltwater pools! Each day, Ocean Pointe, hosted family fun evenings and crafts during the day! We really enjoyed the s'mores over an open fire!
Our time in Florida, flew by! We cannot say enough good things about our Florida experience, at Ocean Point, West Palm Beach! We can not wait to make more memories, in Florida!

***This is NOT a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own, and in no way swayed by the resort that we stayed in.

Wood Badge Tent Sign

I love when, true craftsmanship produces an amazing product! Through networking and my amazing Wood Badge "Family," I recently saw a photo of my friend's tent and this awesome cedar sign at Beaumont Scout Reservation. On the sign was her name, course number, and Wood Badge critter. (Each patrol has an name and animal. You will hear it called a patrol "critter," by those who have completed Wood Badge.) Isn't the detail, just awesome?
This sign adds personality to your campsite, notifies your Scouts where to find you, and helps to identify that you attended Wood Badge! Each sign is unique, just as the cedar that was carved is unique! I have seen two designs, but I know that this artist would gladly work with you to make the sign you desire.

Another cool feature, in addition to his artist stamp on the back, is that the backside is unfinished! Why is this something that you would want? If your camp does fire branding, at the completion of camp, this is a great place to leave your brand! Just another way that this word carver, understands Scouting!

Contact Bruce Mayberry, via Face Book, or email to have your unique sign created just for you!

Wood Badge Beading Ceremony C3-312-14-2

Who knew, that a little wooden bead, would mean so much? The ceremony was held at Beaumont Scout Reservation, during Leadership Outdoor Experience. (It was very windy and cold.) I was so humbled and honored, that many friends and family, chose to join me on this special night!

The Sizzling Soaring Golden Eagles patrol, joined in on the fun! Our SPL, Rich arrived, while I was staffing LOE, and I nearly cried, when I saw him! Jim was the next to arrive, and he graciously let me borrow our course patch, as mine couldn't be found. An Eagle cry, cut through the air, and we knew that Mark had arrived! We all hugged, as our convocation of Eagles, gathered at Beaumont, once again! (We greatly missed Shelly and Austin...our patrol, just wasn't complete without them.)

Our Scoutmaster, Mark and my Training Guide, Gerry, presented a very moving ceremony. I found out that not all neckerchiefs are the same size...and barely fit over my head. Between shivering and a few tears, I now am part of a select few who have earned their second Wood Badge Bead.

Congratulations to Phil, who also earned his second Wood Badge Bead!
