Ever since college-bound Mike Wazowski (voice of Billy Crystal) was a little monster, he has dreamed of becoming a Scarer—and he knows better than anyone that the best Scarers come from Monsters University (MU). But during his first semester at MU, Mike’s plans are derailed when he crosses paths with hotshot James P. Sullivan, “Sulley” (voice of John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer.  The pair’s out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University’s elite Scare Program. To make matters worse, they realize they will have to work together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters, if they ever hope to make things right.

"The Sandlot" Headlines TASK Field Dedication #CardsCare #STLSandLot

CARDINALS CARE, FOX SPORTS MIDWEST & FOX HOME ENTERTAINMENT DEDICATE BALLFIELD FOR DISABLED CHILDREN

ST. LOUIS, MO (June 12, 2013) – Cardinals Care, FOX Sports Midwest and 20th Century FOX Home Entertainment will dedicate a ball field for disabled children tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.(Thursday, June 13th) in Fenton, Missouri that was made possible by a $50,000 investment made in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of the popular film “The Sandlot”.

The new, state of the art baseball field for disabled children will be run by Team Activities for Special Kids (TASK), a local non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children with special needs by providing them with athletic and social opportunities. TASK’s mission is to build self-esteem and self-confidence in kids with special needs.

Aware of the strong baseball tradition in St. Louis, FOX Home Entertainment worked with FOX Sports Midwest and Cardinals Care to find an opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “The Sandlot” by donating funds to renovate a local sandlot. FOX Home Entertainment established the Sandlot Baseball Field Program to coordinate baseball field renovations across the U.S. so that fans and baseball lovers will be able to enjoy their own “Sandlot” field. FOX Sports Midwest celebrities will participate as celebrity bench coaches during the inaugural game on the field that will be playedtomorrow at 10:30 a.m., following the field dedication.

This is the 21st youth ball field that Cardinals Care has dedicated. Cardinals Care was established to give fans a way of teaming up with Cardinals players and the Cardinals organization to help children in our community – both on and off the baseball field. Since it was incorporated in 1997, Cardinals Care has invested $19 million in helping children, including providing nearly $11 million in grants to over 800 non-profit youth organizations, and building 20 youth ball fields in neighborhoods in both Missouri and Illinois.

{Review} Flying Heroes - Superman

Grip it! Rip It

The most iconic superhero characters are taking flight with new Flying Heroes action figures! With a quick pull from the launcher, kids will be able to unleash their favorite superheroes and watch them FLY like never before. The Fall 2013 collection features three of the most popular superheroes - Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man.

The boys and I headed out to the backyard, to see if we could make Superman fly. We opened the packaging, and were ready to see just how high our super hero would go to save the world. The great thing about the Flying Heroes - Superman, was that it only has two pieces, and even my four year old was able to send Superman on an adventure. The simple grip it and rip it design is perfect for little hands. Both my six and four year old, were able to hold the launcher, pull the launcher string, and send the Flying Heroes - Superman up, up, and away!

 

The boys played with the Flying Heroes - Superman, for hours! It became a challenge to see how high and far they could send Superman! Thank goodness it was a beautiful day, as our hero spent most of the day, in the clouds! With just a slight tilt of the wrist, we soon discovered that we could make Superman fly over the swing set, or send him flying over the huge tree in our back yard! Superman will once again save the day, and your child will run all over the yard, chasing him to make sure he lands safely! My kids loved the Flying Heroes - Superman, and have asked if they can have the Flying Heroes -Spider-man too! Watch out world, our back yard will never be the same, as my two boys will be fighting crime and thinking of the next adventure with Flying Heroes - Superman!
