Blog Dare: 165 - If I Were in Charge...

Today's Prompt: If I were in charge...

If I were in charge:
  • Air fare and hotel expense would always be cheap, so all could afford to travel
  • You could bask in the sunshine without thoughts of sun burn or skin cancer
  • A pool would always be near by, and it would never be ice cold
  • There would be an endless supply of ice cream
  • The beach would be within walking distance
  • A picnic basket would always be near the front door, and goodies to be thrown in would always be stocked ready to go on a last minute picnic
  • Friends and family would always be near
I am not in charge, never have been...so instead we live life to the fullest. Our little family of 4, is happy, and for that I am thankful. Very few things are really needed to be happy. Let us not focus on what we do not have, but instead focus on all of the great things we do have.

Yesterday we:
  • Turned off the television, and instead the kids and I colored, made a parking garage, and played board games
  • The boys helped me make macaroni and cheese, to go with their meal
  • Mikey drew a picture of an extension crane
  • Ryan brought me a book, and we curled up on the couch and read it together
  • I talked to my mom on the phone, without the kids interrupting
  • My husband and I watched a movie together, once the kids were asleep
What great things did you do yesterday? Did you talk to a friend? Read to your child at bed time? Share a few minutes with your partner, even if words were not spoken? Did you enjoy a meal? When was the last time you stopped to think about all of the "simple," things that make life great?
