20th Anniversary of the Sandlot & TASK Field Dedication #CardsCare #TASK #STLSandLot

Thanks to Cardinals Care, FOX Sports Midwest, 20th Century FOX Home Entertainment, and the 20th Anniversary of the "Sandlot" a field was dedicated to some very special children in Fenton, Missouri. It was a morning I will never forget as Fredbird, the Fox Midwest Girls, and the staff of TASK all rallied around the children who were just smiling from ear to ear in anticipation of playing on the new baseball field!

David Mickey Evans (the Director) and Patrick Renna (Ham Porter), explained to those in attendance that the Sandlot was more than a baseball movie, it was a movie about friendship! Take a group of misfits, clean up an open lot, and all you need is a ball...it's where the real lessons in life were learned. The amazing thing about the "Sandlot," is that baseball was inclusive and allowed a kid with zero talent, to become legendary!

"Your killing me Smalls," and "Play ball,"were quoted as Pat Renna played with his team. The score didn't matter, and no one cared that "typical rules," were not followed in this game. This baseball game was about inclusion, fun, and smiles. When a community rallies around children with physical and mental challenges, so that all can play; it was an honor to watch and enjoy this momentous occasion!
