Elf Mischief Night 26 - Camp Out

Image
Max, Buddy, and Charlie Brown went on a camp out ; with an elf sized tent and sleeping bags! They also roasted marshmallows over the fire! I love the Christmas themed tent, and the candy cane poles! Mikey yelled "Oh my gosh, a tent and fire!" Ryan was telling Charlie Brown to go to bed. It was just a ploy to eat his marshmallow! The sleeping bags roll up, and can be tied with a bow! **I made the tent back in October and was shocked at how easy it was. Had I had the time, and not been hiding this project from the kids, I easily could have finished it in one afternoon. Thank you for the inspiration and tutorial, Sew Momma Sew! Her tutorial is found here . **I wanted the plain white poles to have some color, so I used thin red electrical tape; and wrapped the poles to look like candy canes. **Thank you to Clean Mamma and her simple doll sleeping bag pattern, found here. **You can't really tell in the photos, but I used a battery operated flameless candle I found at the d...

Elf Mischief Night 25 - Baseball

Image
Buddy and Max watched the World Series, at the North Pole with Santa and the other elves. That memory sparked an idea to setup an impromptu game of catch! Buddy has perfected his throwing arm, from throwing so many snowballs! Max still has a lot to learn about hitting the sweet spot, but he loves to play baseball! Mikey and Ryan were shocked, as they know they can not play inside...this was a huge deal! Thanks Buddy and Max, for setting the wheels in motion...Mikey then asked if he could bring his tractor inside too! (Love it!)

Elf Mischief Night 24 - Muffins

Image
Buddy and Max, headed back to the kitchen...and made muffins! Muffins are a favorite treat for the kids, they ask for them all the time! Any flavor, they aren't picky...any muffin will do! Mikey and Ryan couldn't wait! Add ice cold milk...and two very happy kids dug right in! Mikey thought the stocking and gift toppers were fun! He asked if he could keep them? (Goofball!)

Lowes Holiday Coal Car 2011

Image
The third part to the series and final hammer class of the year, was a big deal for the boys! They could not wait to finish their train for 2011. Ryan is getting so much better, he just has to learn to hit the nail in the same pace twice. His coal car has a few gauges...but we wont focus on those! That's what stickers are for! Mikey has really got into class this year, he just needs to learn how to read, so he and Daddy can read the blue prints together! Ryan and Mikey Mikey and Ryan wanted to do different stickers on the coal car. Mikey followed the picture on the package, and Ryan stayed with the Christmas theme! I love that they aren't afraid to be individuals! The completed 2011 train set! (We now have 9 pieces from this year and last year, to set under our tree.) *Looking forward to 2012's classes...Mikey doesn't know that they are building a dinosaur! He will be thrilled, shhh ...don't tell him!

Elf Mischief Night 23 - Play-doh

Image
What kid doesn't love Play- Doh ? Buddy and Max brought the boys a new Play- Doh set with a kitchen theme, and found the other fun factory stuff! Ryan and Mikey loved this one...all day they kept asking if it was time to go home, so they could play with their new Play- Doh ?

Elf Mischief Night 22 - Candy Cane Names

Image
We heard Buddy and Max making lots of noise last night in the kitchen! They took candy canes, and shaped them into the boys names! Then added candy canes to form hearts! Mikey and Ryan Mikey was so excited he picked up the M to look a little closer..sadly the M snapped right in half, as it was fragile! Ryan thought his R was great, and held it up to look through it! **Making the names from candy canes was hard! The tutorial said to break up the candy canes into manageable pieces to form the letters. She did not mention how to form the letters or that the candy canes would roll all over the place! **First round of baking at 250 degrees...the Y and N flattened out, and had to be reshaped. (Not sure if my cheapo dollar store candy canes played a part in the uneven melting process.) **The final project turned out great! I learned so much about how to work with candy canes. If I ever do this again, maybe for Valentines day...I think the process would go so much easier! **Thanks to Make a...

Elf Mischief Night 21 - Bug Collectors

Image
If you have followed this blog for awhile, you know how much Mikey LOVES spiders! Last night Buddy, and Max went on a little bug catching mission! (Thank goodness they are all plastic, instead of the real ones Mikey finds!) Buddy and his net, caught a huge spider! Max is using the tweezers to look at a spider too. Ryan and Mikey, looking at the bug boxes! Mikey LOVED the spiders, thanks Buddy and Max!
